How to have custom numbering of Plants and Objects in Garden Planner

By default Garden Planner allocates numbers to the plants and objects in your plan and these are shown in the Notebook view.

These numbers are allocated alphabetically within in each category.

 

But what if you want to specify the numbering yourself? This can be done.

What you need to do is include a leading number in the plant or objects title.

So if you have "dense shrub" and you want it be numbered one, then change it's title to "1 dense shrub".

Note: in the above example there is also a auto label for the dense shrub. By default it hides the leading number

You can continueto number more plants or objects in your plan.

In the Notebook window these plants will now have this numbering

If you want to change the numbering simply change the leading number in the title. If you have some plants or objects without numbers then Garden Planner will add in numbers starting at the highest number that you have included.

If you have two plants with the same name then it will only list that once and set the quantity to 2 (as shown above - there are two plants that are both are called "1 dense shrub" )

The list is sorted in numerical order within each category.

If you want the numbers to appear in the Title section of the list and to appear in the auto labels, then choose the Customise button in the Notebook window and unselect the Hide Leading Numbers in title option
